Milano Day 2 - Castello Sforzesco

  Castello Sforzesco

After our first day in Milan and the perfect start with our trip to the Expo, which we all loved, we then began to visit the city itself. Our first stop was the Castello Sforzesco, which is quiet near the city centre. Since I can remember, I have always been interested in history, because even as a child, my parents took me to all the museums, castles and sights, when we travelled. And the historical buildings always radiated a special atmosphere, which fascinated me. Just like some kind of magic . And this magic still exists nowadays.
The Castello (castle) is a huge fortress from the renaissance and just the outside is amazing.
I think, everyone has their favorite era and the renaissance is one of mine, next to the roman empire and the baroque times.  Inside you can visit several museums, like a picture gallery or one with antique furniture. There is also an unfinished sculpture from Michelangelo and frescos by Leonardo da Vinci.
Once again, we arrived very late (why do I still even mention that?!) and maybe just saw half of the whole castle, because we had just one hour left. Meanwhile I began to believe, that we handicap ourselfs, so that we can't see everything and have a reason to return.:)
