Roma - Day 6 - Via dei Fori Imperiali

Another advice for all of those, who are more or (especially) less interested in history and don't want to spent their money on the Forum Romanum: You can still stroll across the Via dei Fori Imperiali, which connects the Piazza Venezia with the Colosseum and see parts of the Forum itself or the Forum of Augustus and Trajan. As the sun set, they also projected images on some buildings (at least when we were there), like an animation about the assassination of Caesar on the back of the senate building, which we found very entertaining.

Noch ein Tip für alle (Halb-)Geschichtsfreunde: Wer nicht das Geld ausgeben will, um sich das komplette Forum anzuschauen, der kann auch einfach über die Via dei Fori Imperiali flanieren, die die Piazza Venezia mit dem Kolosseum verbindet und bekommt auch viel fürs Auge geboten, denn man hat Ausblick auf Teile des Forum Romanum selbst oder das Augustus- und Trajans Forum. Seit neuestem wurden dort auch Tribünen aufgebaut und einige Animationen werden auf Häuserwände projeziert (zumindest als wir dort waren), wie z.B. die Ermordung Cäsars auf die Rückwand des (nachgebauten) Senatsgebäudes, was uns total faszinierte. 

Rome - Day 6 - Forum Romanum

Ciao! Today we travel to Italy once again - back to Rome and "back in time". When we visited the  Forum Romanum some years ago for the first time, we didn't manage to see everything, so this time we tried again. But once again we didn't get to the exit neat the Capitoline Hill, because they closed early. The area is so extensive, I would definitely suggest to plan 3 to 4 hours for your visit. If you take the audioguide, probably an additional hour. My tip for the history-lazy ones: If you just want to visit the Colosseum, you can still use the Forum for a walk and to cross the "city", if you are starting at Piazza Venezia, because the Ticket for the Forum also includes the entry for the Colosseum. 

Ciao! Heute reisen wir wieder einmal nach Italien - zurück nach Rom und "back in time". Bei unserem letzten Besuch im Forum Romanum imJahr 2012 haben wir ja nur einen Teil gesehen und es nicht geschafft, uns bis zumKapitol durchzuarbeiten. Das wollten wir dieses Mal nachholen, um auch das Forum von unserer Liste der Must-see-Sehenswürdigkeiten zu streichen. Aber natürlich kam es mal wieder anders und bereits zum 2. Mal sind wir nicht bis zum Ende gekommen. Naja, dann beim dritten Mal, hoffe ich doch. Das Forum ist so weitläufig, ich würde auf jedenfall 3-4 Stunden einplanen. Wenn man den Audioguide nimmt, wahrscheinlich sogar 4-5 Stunden. Tip für Geschichtsfaule: Wer nur das Kolosseum besichtigen möchte, kann das Forum trotzdem für einen Spaziergang nutzen, denn im Ticket des Forums ist ebenfalls der Eintritt für das Kolosseum enthalten.

Rome - Day 6 - What discoverers wear

Seems as if we found our favourite "posing"-place in Rome. And how could you not love that location?! We started our day right at that point, because we wanted to visit the Forum Romanum once again after our visit in 2013, when we only saw half of it. And can you believe it: Once again we didn't see it all. As if we manipulated ourselfes to come back a third time.:) But first our outfits of the day. I love leatherjackets, because they fit every  type of outfit and almost every climate. (Ok, I'm not talking about winter weather.) And especially a brown leatherjacket doesn't look as harsh as a black one. I found this one some months ago at Primark for only a few bucks. And one of my favorite accessory on my trip: my feather-earpiece. I love it, but wore it in so many photos now, I need something new.;)

Scheint fast so, als hätten wir unsere liebste Posing-Stelle in Rom gefunden.;) Unseren Tag 6 starteten wir wieder genau dort, denn wir wollten uns noch den Rest des Forum Romanum anschaun, den wir 2012 nicht geschafft hatten. Und kann man sich das vorstellen? Schon wieder haben wir nicht alles geschafft. Mir kommt es so vor, als würden wir uns manchmal selbst manipulieren, damit wir noch einmal wiederkommen können. Kommen wir aber erstmal zu unseren Outfit, bevor es wieder viele Bilder von alten Steinen zu sehen gibt.;) Lederjacken sind ja mein absolutes wardrobe essential, weil sie zu fast jeder Art von Outfit passen und gelayert auch fast in jedes Klima. Diese braune Jacke habe ich vor ein paar Monaten bei Primark für ein paar Kröten gefunden, finde aber, dass sie für den Preis garnicht so minderwertig aussieht. Vorallem sieht braun ja nicht so hart und rockig aus, wie eine schwarze Jacke.

What I Wore - Jurassic World

For a change after all the travel pics, today I show you an outfit, I wore the last time we went to a small castle, which is in our neighboorhood. And that time I remembered to take the camera with me. But shooting outfitpics and having two dogs on a leash isn't easy, so be prepared to hurry up.

First I wanted to call this look "English Teacher", because my brother always calls me that way, when I wear that coat. Probably because it looks a bit bohemian, because of its oversized fit and the check pattern. And I always feel that way, when I wear it. Ok,it is not very flattering in relation to my low height, but "who cares". I like looking strange.:)

Zur Abwechslung zu den ganzen Reisefotos heute mal wieder ein Outfitpost. Zum Glück haben wir in unserer Nähe ein kleines Schlösschen, zu dem wir öfters mit unseren Hunden gehen und das auch bestens geeignet ist, um dort dann auch ein paar Fotos zu schiessen. Fotos machen mit einemHund an der Leine ist dann aber auch nicht so einfach, mussten wir feststellen. Aber mein Spikie musste trotzdem auf die Fotos, weil er ja farblich perfekt passt.

Eigentlich wollte ich den Look "the English Teacher" nennen, weil mein Bruder mich immer Englischlehrerin nennt, wenn ich den Mantel anhabe. Wahrscheinlich weil er durch den oversizemäßigen Schnitt und das Karomuster ein wenig bohemian aussieht. Sehr vorteilhaft in Bezug auf meine geringe Körpergöße ist er nicht, but who cares.

Italy Day 5 - Capitoline Museums Rome

Ciao. So tomorrow we're going on another short trip to Italy for my boyfriend's birthday. Once again we are flying to Bergamo, but now we want to visit the Lake Garda, because my sister was so fascinated, when she went there 5 month ago after we split at the end of our trip to Milan, when we instead flew to Rome. On our first day in Rome we first went to the Baths of Caracalla, but also wanted to visit a museum I read about on Tripadvisor and one I haven't visited yet, the Capitoline Museums. And now it is one of my favorite museums in Rome. It is definately a little chaotic, but it's very diverse. It consists of several museums, so it offers a picture gallery with paintings from Caravaggio and Rubens, many collections of antiques with the famous Capitoline Wolf and portions of the Temple of Jupiter Optimus and other excibitions. At the time of our visit, there was one about Raffaello. What we also loved, was the Cafe on the roof terrace with an amazing view over Rome and also the tabularium, where you can look over the Forum Romanum.

Ciao! Morgen starten wir dann mal wieder Richtung Italien und fliegen wieder nach Bergamo (Mailand). Diesmal aber nicht mit dem Ziel Mailand, sondern wir begeben uns zum Gardasee. Von diesem war meine Schwester ja so begeistert, nachdem sie dorthin nach unserem gemeinsamen Mailandtrip gefahren ist, wo hingegen wir ja nach Rom geflogen sind.

An unserem ersten Tag in Rom hatten wir neben den Caracallathermen natürlich noch einen 2. Anlaufpunkt und zwar die Kapitolinischen Museen. Diese kannte ich noch nicht, hatte aber viel Gutes bei Tripadvisor darüber gelesen und ich muss sagen, sie gehören jetzt zu meinen Lieblingsmuseen.

Ok, ein wenig chaotisch sind sie schon, aber sie sind wirklich abwechslungsreich, da sie aus verschiedenen Museen bestehen. Zum einen hat man eine tolle Gemäldegallerie mit Bildern von Carvaggio und Rubens, zum anderen gibt es dort diverse Antikenausstellungen, welche die bekannte Capitolinische Wölfin enthält und auch Reste des Kapitolinischen Tempels. Ausserdem hat man Zugang zum Tabularium und von dort einen wunderbaren Blick über das Forum Romanum. Was auch hervoragend ist, ist das Cafe auf der Dachterrasse, wo man ebenso einen super Blick über Rom hat.

Italy - Though ancient Rome - Day 5

Can you believe, that I took these pics in November? I don't. But we were really lucky with the weather or maybe Rome is just a beautiful city including beautiful weather. But for me it's even more incredible, that the trip was 5 month ago. Fortunatelly the next trip is around the courner, so I have to hurry up with my pics from Rome. After we visited The Baths of Caracalla we had in mind one other destination and our way passed by the Collosseum and the Forum Romanum. And how can you not take photos there?!

Can man sich vorstellen, dass diese Fotos im November entstanden sind? Also ich nicht.:) Wir hatten ja mega Glück oder ist in Rom einfach immer gutes Wetter? Aber noch krasser ist, dass der Trip schon wieder 5 Monate her ist. Zum Glück steht schon in geraumer Zeit wieder ein Trip an, weshalb ich mich jetzt dringend mit den Fotos aus Rom ranhalten muss. Nach den Caracallathermen hatten wir noch ein anderes Ziel für den Tag im Auge und der Weg führte uns am Kolloseum und am Forum Romanum vorbei. Natürlich kann man es sich nicht nehmen lassen auch einmal kurz dort zu knipsen.
